Troubleshooting

Summary:

It bothers Tony that Bruce can’t choose to suit up or sit this one out like the rest of them. He tries to help, he really does, but then Tony will always be Tony, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

But it bothered him, and one thing that could be said about Tony was that he didn’t put up with the things that bothered him for very long at all. Excepting the case of Nick Fury, whom he was forced to put up with, because he just couldn’t get rid of him. For one thing, you couldn’t kill him, and if you could, theoretically, manage to kill him, the bastard would probably just rise from amongst the dead and come at you. With a zombie bazooka, probably.

A zombie Nick Fury with a bazooka was about as terrifying as a horror story could get.

"A villain is just a victim whose story hasn’t been told."

The Land Of Stories: The Wishing Spell (via colfershands)

Look /sigh I like Loki as much as anyone else and more than most, ok? But no. Villains are not victims. being a bad person is a choice you make. Yeah, sure oka, maybe your dad didn’t hug you enough as a child, I feel for you, but that does not mean you can waltz in one morning and decide to become a genocidal maniac and we’ll all swoon over your pretty eyes and your creepy smiles.

I love to play with Loki, and I understand where Tom comes from when he spills forth his feels, but Loki is at core a villain because he simply doesn’t give a shit about who he hurts so long as he gets what he wants. Sure, maybe at some point he hesitates, but he pushed through that hesitation only firmer in his resolve to destroy the world. His time as a victim is long past; now he’s in control of his life and is therefore to be held accountable for his actions.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Malfoy is in the same position. I do think he’s a victim, because in his case his actions were orders, and not his own initiative, and besides he grew up an in a social environment that taught him the only way was Voldemort’s way. Sure, Malfoy is a bully and a thug, but he’s not evil, much in the same way other bullies in school are not evil. Cruel, unsympathetic, arrogant and proud, but not evil.

Draco Malfoy didn’t kill Dumbledore. Loki tried to kill Thor.

lol to think we were just discussing this last night in the chat. I do think he’s masculine, I don’t find him feminine at all.

Nada

The woman who accidentally caused the events that would lead to Lucifer turning Hell over to the Dream King.

According to an African myth passed down orally from generation to generation, Nada was the queen of the city where man began. Dream of the Endless took her, a mortal, as his lover, even though it was forbidden for one of his kind to do so.  The myth states that, when the sun saw what they had done, it melted Nada’s city of glass with a great fireball. Seeing what their relationship had caused but at a loss for away to end it, Nada commited suicide. Dream, infuriated by the elaborate rejection, condemned her to Hell and showed no remorse about doing so until he himself was imprisoned some 10,000 years later. Eventually, she was reincarnated as a boy in China.

I think the evolution they made of Loki’s costume from Thor to Avengers was very good. Still in essence pretty much the same, yet Loki seemed much more adult and menacing.
